Story: While the first installment of Gegege no Kitaro was an action fantasy family film for all ages, the sequel appeals even more to older audiences with darker themes and storyline, and the same visually stunning array of fantastic creatures and special effects. This time Kitaro and his friends are investigating a series of mysterious disappearances. They stumble upon a yokai conspiracy and a cursed cycle that dates back 1000 years. Tanaka Rena (Giniro no Season) and Oizumi Yo (After School) return as Kitaro's yokai buddies, along with new additions like Terajima Shinobu (Vibrator), Sano Shiro (The Glorious Team Batista), singer Nakagawa Shoko, late veteran actor Ogata Ken in his final film appearance, and teen actress Kitano Kii (Kofuku na Shokutaku), stepping in as the new heroine.
